Super Hair Removal (SHR)

Super Hair Removal (SHR) is a hair removal technology that uses low energy light pulses to damage hair stem cells and prevent regrowth. SHR is a combination of laser hair removal and IPL (Intense Pulsed Light), and was developed in 2008 as an alternative to traditional laser hair removal. SHR is said to be faster, gentler, and more effective than traditional methods, and can be used on all skin types and hair types.

SHR uses multiple pulses per second to build up heat in the hair follicle, rather than a single high energy pulse. The laser sends 50% of its energy to the hair and 50% to the hair follicle, which is responsible for future hair growth. SHR also uses skin contact cooling to make the treatment more comfortable and painless.

Laser hair removal is usually performed by a dermatologist and is often used to remove unwanted hair from the face, legs, arms, and bikini line. It’s generally more effective on women with dark hair and pale skin because the laser is attracted to certain hair pigments more than others, but newer technologies have made it more suitable for lighter hair as well.
